These chocolate chip strawberry peanut butter oats are sure to put a smile on your face for breakfast this morning!

A Decadent Treat!

Who here loves chocolate chips? And peanut butter? Confession time: if I see chocolate chips I really can’t resist but to snack on some. Every single time I’ve got chocolate chips out to make dessert (or breakfasts like these!), I gotta have a taste. You know, just to make sure they’re okay!

Same with peanut butter! I tend to forget about peanut butter and don’t just reach out to get it. Again, if I need peanut butter to make a dessert, I’ll lick some from the jar, but I never think to have some banana and peanut butter for a healthy afternoon snack. It was only recently that I decided to appreciate some peanut butter on my homemade sourdough bread. But that’s another story!

I also underrate strawberries. But who doesn’t love a chocolate-covered strawberry? You’ll be getting chocolate and strawberries in this warm oatmeal bowl! It truly is an irresistible match made, wouldn’t you agree!

Two Types of Peanut Butter!

Are you looking for a creamy and delectable way to start your morning? Then you're going to want to have these super sweet and filling oats! I use TWO kinds of nut butters to make these and they're topped with the simple sweetness of strawberries and chocolate chips. In this recipe, we’ll be using powdered peanut butter and natural smooth peanut butter.

Why Use Powdered Peanut Butter?

Powdered peanut butter has been an interesting find for me. The ground powder comes from roasted peanuts being pressed to remove most of the oil. Most powdered peanut butters contain 85 percent less fat than regular peanut butter! While I don’t watch my calories, this can be a great option for dieters who still want to enjoy peanut butter. The reason I’m using it is to cook with the oats. I had chocolate powdered peanut butter on hand, so I wanted that flavour to meld into the oatmeal. The powdered peanut butter really adds a level of nuttiness to the oats! I reserved the regular creamy peanut butter to top the oats for serving because I love the creaminess and the rich, nutty taste of traditional peanut butter. It’s so luxurious!

How to Prepare These Chocolate Chip Strawberry Peanut Butter Oats

This is a simple and decadent breakfast oats recipe.

Begin by defrosting your strawberries if you’re using frozen strawberries. I defrost mine quickly by adding them to a bowl and soaking them in warm water.
